Award Number : 09B04019 Award-winning item : Cyclone Cleaner[DC26 turbinehead entry] Company : Dyson KK Director: Dyson Limited Chairman James Dyson Designer: Dyson Limited Chairman James Dyson |
The DC26 was designed giving consideration to living conditions in Japanese homes. As the smallest, lightest vacuum cleaner in Dyson's history, it is highly maneuverable and easy to operate. In addition, Dyson's unique, patented Root Cyclone technology has been certified by independent testers to remove more dust than other vacuum cleaners. Its cleaner head, which secures an optimal level of tight adhesion to the floor, features the new V-ball technology for smooth operation.
Miniaturization does not mean simply making things smaller. There was a need to generate optimal balance to maintain high vacuum performance in the space required for airflow in a cyclone cleaner. The DC26 achieves optimal balance by taking a new look at all elements of a vacuum cleaner (size, weight, durability, etc.) and all parts making up the vacuum cleaner.
The manufacturer, which had continued its own technological progress for more than 20 years, has with this product thoroughly researched Japanese home conditions and realized a much more compact model than in the past, without sacrificing any performance. All structural components and details have been built with high levels of precision based on he structural language that had continued since the first generation, and the engineering confidence and steady design approach can be regarded highly.
