A regionally-focused application that meets the evolving needs of young users while fostering information literacy. It serves as a bold and innovative bridge connecting traditional journalism with the digital-native generation.

The creativity and problem-awareness of employees who love fresh cream supported the design and development. While achieving ease of use, its compact form evokes the image of cream, visually expressing the joy of cooking.

A teaching material that imparts essential independent living skills through storytelling. Driven by a strong desire to “change the future environment for high school students,” the material has been fundamentally redesigned from its core.
Industrial products such as home appliances, housing and construction, software, services, and systems, as well as initiatives, activities for local creation, and business models…All designs, whether tangible or intangible, are eligible for the GOOD DESIGN AWARD.
Entry is available until May 22, 2025, at 13:00 JST. The entry and screening process takes about six months to announce the award.
Many first-time applicants win the award each year, and more than 45% of the 2024 winners are first-time applicants.
The 1st screening fee is 16,500JPY, and the 2nd screening fee is 71,500JPY. Upon passing the 2nd screening, the entry will be selected as a tentative winner of the GOOD DESIGN AWARD, and an award package fee of 181,500JPY will be required, bringing the total to 269,500JPY. Additional optional fees may apply to the 2nd screening fee and the award package fee depending on the exhibition content.
Applicants can be either the business owners of the entries or the design contractors.
It is necessary to provide an overview and features of the entry, including key design points, design background, and related text and images. These contents must be entered on the entry site.
Both past and unpublished designs are eligible as long as they meet the following two conditions. 1.Can be purchased or utilized by the user by March 31, 2026; 2.Can be announced to the public on the award announcement date, October 15, 2025.

G Mark is a symbolic mark awarded to recipients of the GOOD DESIGN AWARD, and is only permitted for use by awarded works. An application must be submitted and a usage fee must be paid before using the G Mark. After the application is completed, the mark can be used for one year on various media in Japan and overseas, including press releases, SNS, and product packaging.
The use of G Mark is voluntary and the annual usage fee is 220,000 JPY. From October 15 to November 5, winners can use G Mark for free publicity. In addition, the organizers have set up preferential systems such as free use by public institutions and half-price for small and medium-sized enterprises.
There is no limit to the number of applications. An average of 1.6 applications were submitted per company in 2024.
Well-known domestic and foreign designers and experts in various fields will implement 1st screening(entry information screening) and 2nd screening(actual work screening) for the entries based on the four screening perspectives of GOOD DESIGN AWARD (human, industrial, social, and time).
