Entry is available until May 23, 2024, at 13:00 JST. The entry and screening process takes about six months to announce the award.
Many first-time applicants win the award each year, and more than 40% of the 2022 winners are first-time applicants.
Firstly, the 1st screening fee of 11,000JPY is required.
Additional fees will be required depending on the progress of the screening.
Applicants can be either the business owners of the entries or the design contractors.
Both past and unpublished designs are eligible as long as they meet the following two conditions. 1.Can be purchased or utilized by the user by March 31, 2025; 2.Can be announced to the public on the award announcement date, October 16, 2024.
The 1st screening fee is 11,000JPY, the 2nd screening fee is 66,000JPY, and if you pass the second screening, the award package fee is 176,000JPY, for a total of 253,000JPY. In the 2nd screening, additional charges may be incurred for large objects and works requiring electricity.
The use of G Mark is voluntary and the annual usage fee is 220,000 JPY. From October 16 to November 5, winners can use G Mark for free publicity. In addition, the organizers have set up preferential systems such as free use by public institutions and half-price for small and medium-sized enterprises.
There is no limit to the number of applications. An average of 1.7 applications were submitted per company in 2023.
Well-known domestic and foreign designers and experts in various fields will implement 1st screening(entry information screening) and 2nd screening(actual work screening) for the entries based on the four screening perspectives of GOOD DESIGN AWARD (human, industrial, social, and time).
