Joint power generator
development by industry and academics The combination of the capacity
to generate the maximum amount of power at extremely low speeds
and the innovative five-propeller, rather than traditional three-propeller,
design, which is based on the results of rotational effectiveness
in wind tunnel testing, has produced an extremely effective, reliable
and maintainable power generator. The designers were commended
for their flexible development structure; a high comfort level
even for nearby residents; and the utilization of the properties
of specific materials.
Piping system nearly eliminates
flow resistance and halves energy consumption by coolant pipes,
where the majority of energy in machine tools is consumed. In
traditional piping, pipe end face joints are buried within channels,
creating the problem of increased flow resistance. Considered
as mere parts in the past, pipes have been thought of as a hydraulic
transmission system. This new system involves designing pipe joints
that eliminate annular lug within pipes, reduces the number of
joints to minimize flow resistance and decreases the size of pipes
and hydraulic transmission pumps. This design also provides simple
installation and disassembling of pipes. The designers were commended
for a systematic concept analyzing an industrial cornerstone that
has been overlooked in the past and providing a simple, rational
solution to the resistance problem.

Growing Village Project "Laughting Tree Park"/ Ecology Design
Manufacturer:OFFICE Mr.JOHN
Design:OFFICE Mr.JOHN
"Growing Village," where seedbeds
are built and residents enjoy watching the process involved in
growing trees that will be used to create chairs, houses and other
products. This project is being run with participation from local
residents and enables residents to experience the dynamic changes
taking place daily in the town in which they live. Goods are created
and towns are developed when people and nature grow together.
The designers were commended for proposing a new bioprocess design
for coexisting with nature over the long term and for illustrating
regional lifestyle.
